Sundays are my favorite. Each Sunday, I feel a certain kind of calmness, a sense of renewal, and the feeling that new opportunities are just around the corner.
But I haven't always felt this way. In the past, my Sundays were hijacked by my anxious anticipation of the coming week. I lost an entire day of my weekend worrying about what might be on the horizon in the weekdays ahead...or more specifically, what might go wrong.
At some point a while back, I just decided to stop worrying about what might happen and start celebrating all the things that did happen. When I was worried, I would jot down a list of three to five things that were keeping me grounded, keeping me sane, or helping me thrive. And while I still make these lists at any given moment, I decided to make this practice an intentional part of my Sundays so I conquer my "Sunday scaries" and step into the new week as joyful as possible.
Going forward, I want to share these lists in this space because whenever I see someone else standing in gratitude, it reminds me to do the same.
I am grateful for...
- boiled crawfish
- 70 degree weather
- the opportunity to rest
- the freedom to express my opinions
- friends who check in with me to make sure I'm doing alright
- FaceTime (isn't technology great?!)
- the love of my family
- a steady source of income
- good talks over cocktails
Cheers to the best week ahead,
